The Polo Tournament Kano

In the last 14 years, MTN has become synonymous with International Polo Tournaments in Nigeria. Polo is a sport that is referred to as the “Game of kings” due to the prestigious associations the game connotes.

The game is an exclusive sport enjoyed by a privileged few in the society, especially amongst northern elites. It also provides a strong platform for high level networking among these select elites. Polo has huge followership amongst the high and mighty both locally and internationally. Individuals who play this sport are considered elitist, urbane, premium, stylish and very cosmopolitan.

In 2015, Polo recorded a huge success with over 6,000 spectators across the regions. Among the attendees were young & dynamic business leaders, traditional rulers (Emirs of Kano, Shehu of Bornu and the new Emir HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s), political bigwigs – former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, members of the Senate, State governors, among others. These key decision makers have openly endorsed and commended MTN’s support towards the development of this prestigious game of kings over the years.
