Sallah Durbar Zaria

A Durbar festival is celebrated annually in Zaria, Kano and Sokoto. It begins with prayers, followed by a royal parade by the Emir and his entourage, accompanied by musicians, and ending at the Emir’s palace. The horses display is spectacular.

It is celebrated in collaboration with the Muslim festivals Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It begins with prayers, followed by a parade of the Emir and his entourage on horses, accompanied by music players, and ending at the Emir’s palace.
