Traders in the city of Kano are set for an explosive one month football fiesta as MTN Nigeria in its bid to foster comradeship and unity among the business community, will be hosting the traders to a football championship from Saturday 20th to Wednesday, 24th September 2016 tagged the “Traders Cup”.
The football competition serves as a platform for recreation among traders across states. The platform also brings traders together to share their business experiences, bond, relax, build healthy business networks and make lasting friendships.
The Kano edition will be the first time the light-hearted football competition will be held in the northern region. Previous editionswere held in Aba and Onitsha for the last 5 to8 years respectively.
In the first round of matches, Garun Barba Market will tackle Wapa BD Change, Hajj Camp Market will engage Kankara Market in the second match of Group A. In Group B, Jawala GSM will take on Gidan Boss Market while Farm Centre GSM will face Singer Market.
Other group games will see WapaMotorcyle Market lock horns with Bata Global GSM and Wambai Market face Kwanar Market in Group C. In Group D, PMP Market will engage Danwali market while SabonGari Market will face a formidable opponent in [riminkebe Market]
Participating teams are selected by the traders, usually by the type of products they trade in or by location. The ultimate winning team of the competition will pocket N400, 000; the second best team will grab N300, 000 while the third place team will claim N200, 000 for their effort. There will also be consolation prizes and raffle draws during the one month football fiesta.
