Today, we got to experience the future, LIVE in Abuja as we unveiled the first official 5G Demo in Nigeria, in partnership with Huawei.
This event was made possible because of the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Communications Technology
and Digital Economy, the Nigerian Communications Commission, MTN and Huawei (Abuja), ZTE (Calabar) and Ericsson (Lagos.) This immersive demo and experience will travel across three Nigerian cities to showcase the capabilities of 5G and its potential to enable economic growth, and social inclusion.
Present at the event was Ferdi Moolman, the Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mazen Mroue, Chief Operating Officer, MTN Nigeria, Rahul De, the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, and others from the MTN Family
MTN was equally very honored to host, the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami; the Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, and the Chairman, the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Garba Danbatta; House of Representatives, Committee on Communications, Ex Captain of the Super Eagles Joseph Yobo, Honourable Akeem Adeyemi at the launch event.
We must say, exciting things happened at the event. @officialpraiz took us through a beautiful rendition of the national anthem and our CTO, Rufai Mohammed gave our guests a look into what 5G is and how it will take the internet to a whole new level. This is a historic moment for us, as it means new possibilities for Nigeria and Nigerians. This innovation has definitely made us hungry for more!
